With stiff competition from local SouthEast Asian streaming video providers: Hooq, and Iflix, despite its well known brand, Netflix has to heavily promote their shows in order to grab subscription dollars.
In the video below, Netflix uses popular Singlish (Singaporean English) terms to try to localize what is essentially a quintessential American cultural show: Orange is the New Black. Whether this works to grow their subscriber base remains to be seen; however, it is being shared organically by local users in the region.
